Narlo
An AI email companion shaped from concept to product experience.
Prototype
My contribution
I defined the problem, product direction, brand and user experience. The prototype was developed with AI and Codex assistance; it is not presented as a completed production product.
01 · The Challenge
Email is busy, repetitive and personal. Narlo began as a product idea: could an AI-assisted companion reduce that burden without feeling cold, intrusive or over-promised? The challenge was to make the idea clear, useful and trustworthy before deciding how it should look or behave.
02 · The Approach
- 01
Defined the problem, audience and product promise before moving into visual design.
- 02
Created the name, positioning, identity and tone around a calm, grounded alternative to typical AI branding.
- 03
Shaped the user experience across the landing page and early product concepts so each interaction supported the same promise.
- 04
Used AI-assisted development and creative tools to explore, iterate and bring the concept to life while retaining judgement over the direction and result.

03 · The Outcome
A clear brand foundation covering purpose, personality, identity, typography, colour and imagery direction.
A product identity that feels premium and calm instead of loud and generic.
A coherent visual language that carries from a small app icon to the wider product experience.
04 · Lessons Learned
Trust comes from consistency across the whole experience, not from one impressive screen.
Constraints (one palette, two typefaces, one symbol) make the work feel designed rather than generated.
AI accelerates execution, but the differentiator is knowing what ‘good’ looks like and why.
